Rick McBain - Vocals, Drums, Bodhran, Djembe, assorted percussion
I knew from about the age of 4 that I wanted to play music. I remember watching my dad's band rehearse in our basement and being completely fixated on the drummer! Got my first drum kit at the age of 11, and started to sing lead vocal... basically because there was nobody else willing to do it! Started playing cover tunes in bars at the age of 16, and the rest is history. Between '91-'93 I attended Professional Musicians College in Regina and obtained a diploma in Contemporary Voice. Throughout the years I've played in several cover/original bands of various genres, including Gokart Mozart, Centrifugal Chiller, Crofter's Revenge, and Tongue Jungle. Absolutely love Scottish/Irish and East Coast music! So, hopefully I'll be tilting kilts with these guys/gals for years to come!
Todd McCubbin - Vocals, Acoustic Guitar, Electric Guitar
As a wee lad, I was surrounded by music as my half-Ukranian heritage introduced me to banjo, fiddle, guitars, harmonicas and accordions. It was shortly after that I discovered K-Tel and spent countless hours singing into my mirror using a badminton racquet as my makeshift guitar. Def Leppard’s Pyromania record convinced me that real guitar would be way cooler, and after a few years of lessons, I morphed into a full time guitar teacher for a number of years before joining my first cover band. Although long hair, fast cars and rock and roll was my destiny (so I thought), a little known night in the early 90’s at a local bar watching an up and coming band called Great Big Sea introduced me to a wonderful style of music that allows me to celebrate my half-Scottish/Irish heritage as well. And although I have spent time in such bands as Crosstown, Normal to None, Frantic City and Grimstone... I feel truly at home when I am onstage with my Tilted “family” and doing what I truly love to do. Cheers!
Thom Allen - Bass

Don plays accordion, flutes & whistles, mandola and also does high harmonies. Don has just released his flute disc, ‘Flute Journeys’ and looks forward to playing and recording with the Tilted Kilts!
Murray Bristow - Fiddle
My Dad’s love of music led him to play saxophone and drums in dance bands at the end of the jazz era. That love of music was passed to me, although my own musical journey started a long way from either jazz or the celtic music played by The Tilted Kilts. Violin training in elementary and high school led to experiences in the classical music world that provided a great foundation and perspective. Over time, my love of music morphed toward the jazz side of things. A local Regina band that I played in delved into bebop, cool, and gypsy jazz. And my love of fiddle music grew over time as well -- it's such a fun genre. The Tilted Kilts has allowed me to explore fiddle tunes from the context of celtic and east coast music. And we do have a lot of fun.
